PostSubject: Requiem For Extinction   Sat Apr 26, 2008 7:46 pm

The Umbrella Corporation a bioengineering pharmecutical company sent in a research team to re-open The Hive on September 29, 2002. The team's insertion point was the main entrance beneath Raccoon City. Shortly after entering The Hive the entire team was slaughtered by T-Virus zombies that had been sealed within the complex. With the entrance now open, Umbrella realized that before long, these highly infectious zombies would make their way to the surface and begin an unstoppable amplification of the infection.

Knowing that containing the outbreak would be nearly impossible, an emergency plan to evacuate key Umbrella personnel from the city was activated. Important researchers and administrators were collected by two-man teams and removed from the city. After the completion of this operation, the city was sealed. Raccoon City was considered a loss, and to keep the infection from spreading past the city limits, gates at the entry and egress points of the city were closed. Traffic into and out of the city was halted.

A screening center was established at one such point, Raven's Gate Bridge, the city's primary traffic artery. Manned by medics and heavily armed corporate soldiers, this checkpoint was a minor effort to save some civilians from the rapidly expanding disaster. Uninfected civilians were permitted to pass, and control of the increasingly panicked population was maintained by Raccoon City Police units and Umbrella soldiers. However, once an infected civilian did reach the blockade (and was subsequently killed), orders were given to completely seal the city. The gates were closed and locked down, stranding the helpless civilians still within the city limits.

Mercenary soldiers working for Umbrella attempted, and failed, to turn the tide of the zombie onslaught. Losses were staggering and effective less. With all units nearly dead, Umbrella's last-line plan was put into motion.

Shortly before dawn on September 30, 2002, a cruise missile equipped with a thermonuclear warhead was launched into the heart of downtown Raccoon City. Umbrella Corporation public relations spin doctors were able to feed a convincing story to the media, who then reported that the city's destruction was due to a terrible accident at the Raccoon City Nuclear Power Facility nearby. Attempts by some of the survivors to spread the truth about what had really happened, met with failure.

But despite the efforts of the Umbrella Corporation and the survivors to stop it the T-Virus escaped containment despite the nuclear destruction of the city. Now spreading through the ground, the Umbrella Corporation was unable to contain it. The virus spread across the country, drying up the lakes, rivers, and continents while infecting the majority of the population. After five years, almost every living creature has become a zombie, and the world itself is on the verge of extinction. The Umbrella Corporation appears to be the only organized society of humans left in the world, its remnants forced to live underground in Hive-like constructs dispersed around the world. Survivors spread out like scatterd ants lost and searching for a safe haven. The infected undead creatures sensing the living survivors making permenant residence impossible. Resting in open spaces the only choice in the desert like world. The only thing to do was group together, keep moving or die.

"Uuah!!" screamed a startled teenage girl of 19 as she woke in the early morning in the middle of the desert, she breathed heavily sweating a lot as she slowly woke up and rubbed her eyes moving to her Hand gun and sighed looking around the sand blowing slightly as she awoke from her small camp. She stood up and walked towards the motorbike she stole from a dealer on her escape from her hometown. She sighed packing up her camp and starting off the radio searching for any signals she could get to survivors. Her name was Jessie Hamond, born and raised in a small town in California had witnessed her parents and brothers deaths to the Infected creatures. She harored the depression but cured it with strong thoughts and killing any infected she happened to see that she could kill. She looked back at the dust as she rode of trying to find food and water and possibly gas for her bike.

With the failure of containment and the fast spread of the infection, it was tough to survive alone these days. How one managed to do so for more than a week now was unbelievable but possible. Streets and alleys seemed empty until you let your guard down, and before you know it, another body is lost to the infection, most likely killed for good due to the hunger of the growing zombies.

The thudding of footsteps could be slightly heard in a quick pace as a man in dark was running. He just witnessed five zombies taking the life of another possible person to group with. Anytime he seemed to get close to finding someone, the zombies would be there to take that person's life. He only sensed his time was cutting short and he wasn't going to allow that.

Chris Starford stopped finally, bending over, hands on his knees as he breathed heavily. He knew he was far enough that the zombies had lost interest in chasing him by now. They were most likely too occupied with the fresh meat they had taken anyways. He looked up at the blazing sun a few seconds before beginning a slow paced walk. The sun wasn't giving and resentment towards him in the black clothing at all. It was skin tight and covered every inch of his upper and lower body. His face was all that was uncovered other than a bandana that made a failed attempt to keep the brown hair out of his eyes. On his chest was a light vest and a couple paddings on his legs and arms to protect him, but not hinder movement or speed at all. Holstered on his left leg was a knife, his right hip a pistol, baretta, and a AR 15 sniper rifle at his back. He had three 15 round clips for the pistol and two 30 round magazines for his rifle set on his chest, ready to be grabbed. Each weapon already loaded with a clip/magazine.

He was an ex S.W.A.T. member, until his team and crew was killed by the zombies, taking a light load with him to survive on. He's managed so far, but he's hoping to find a survivor who will live long enough to travel with him.

Jessie sighed looking up at a crashed army carrier truck and sighed stopping at a safe distance and began holstering ehr assortment of weapons. She sighed putting the Remington 870 on the holster on her back in her Jacket and the M21 Sniper rifle on the opposit both facing down to the ground for easy access, holding the Mark XIX .50 cal Desert Eagle in her hands aim as she pocketed the smaller pistol in her thigh side holster. She looked around the truck having suffecient ammo for her guns as she holstered her Desert eagle and drawing the R870 shotgun and loading 6 buck shots into the chamber and aiming it in defense moving around the truck and looking at the truck sighing crossing ehr heart for the dead guards on the ground decaying and decomposing as she searched for gas and went back to her bike grabbing a bottle and syphoning the precious fuel from the truck and grabbing the M4 Carbine and shouldering it as she filled its clip and grabbed a few extra taking the bottle ready to move back to the bike.

Chris saw the army carrier truck crashed and destroyed. He was headed to it now for supplies, but stopped a block away as he saw movement. He pulled out the AR 15 and looked down the scope, seeing it was another survivor. He let off a faint smile, putting the gun away and taking out his baretta. He knew she would do no harm, but he couldn't be so sure about anything else around. He kept on for the truck, hoping she hadn't taken everything there. A couple grenades or so would be a nice grab.

She sighed taking the gas and ammo and stepped away, she was heavily armed and an obvious threat to anyone looking at her but she didnt care, the onyl people she saw out her was a target anyway so she always kept armed, she walked past to her bike and lent down to the gas tank unscrewing it and pouring the funneled gas into it filling it and smiling "Good" she said standing and noticing the guy and looking at him holding the M4 up and looking at him "You been bitten!?" She asked him from the distance and sighed lowering her weapon he was a good distance so she could easily kill him if he tried something.

Chris heard her words but kept walking, seeing the M4 pointed at him clearly. He shook his head a little, but not in response to her question. He waited until he made it onto the truck and started to scrounge around a little. He came out with a bit more ammo and sighed in relief. "At least you didn't take it all." He stretched a little, looking over to her. "And if I was bitten, would I be holding a gun?" He put the baretta away and looked to the bike a bit.

She looked at him "Depends on when you got bitten" she said looking at him and moving onto her bike and starting it riding up to him. She looked at him and sighed stopping "come on the Infected will be here soon" she said motioning him onto her bike so she could help him find a vehicle so he wouldnt be on foot all the time

He looked down the street he just came from, knowing that she was indeed correct. The infected were fast approaching. He had to go with her or he may not survive. "Alright.." He climbed up onto the back of the bike, placing his hands on her shoulders to hold on. He knew of a few other ways to hold on if he needed to let a hand go to grab a weapon, but he figured it wasn't to be necessary.

She looked up and sighed seeing about 6 Infected fast approaching, She looked forward and drew her pistol aiming it backwards and smiling "Dont move" she said firing a few shots hitting three of them and smiling "Ill leave the rest for you" she said starting to drive off as she pulled the scarf over her mouth and smiling as she rode abotu 4 miles past a garage and stopped moving back and sighing as she got off and looked at the garage.

He took the others out with ease with the baretta and just relaxed as they rode. He hadn't been able to relax for a long time, have to move and sleep. Now he was sitting there, even if it was for just a few. He looked to the garage and hopped off, looking at the door. "I see..." He figured out now that she wanted to get him a vehicle and possibly leave. He didn't care either way since this would give him a better chance. "It's getting late.. You should stick around for the night." He spoke as he broke into the door and walked in, searching the vehicles available.

She sighed and watched him go in "Idiot" she whispered as she loked inside at a few of the cars after doing a search of the room. She sighed and shut the door after finding a flame lamp ligth switch. She turned it on and sighed drawing the desert eagle and sighing "Stay still and dont breathe we ar surrounded by infected and we have to kill them all." she whispered as she slolwy aimed at them.

He drew at least the AR 15 and turned the TAC Light on, using a hand to block the light. He would wait until the first shot was fired before aiming the light to see where he was shooting. He was calm and steady, ready on her mark. He could hear the infected and knew that they could make it out of this easily.

She sighed and smiled as she held the desert eagle and took a breathe. In a slow motion like movement she fired and the rush began taking out one then another jumping up and staning on top of one of the cars to shoot at the many infected in the room. A little over 7 in the garage and she though a family mustve been hiding in the garge.

He uncovered his TAC light and took fire at a couple zombies, being sure each was a head shot. He left most of them to her as he went into the house, being careful of each corner. He would take out what he found, going slow so that he wouldn't get surprised and she could easily catch up to him.
