The power of the Alpha [Cataclysm and Kitty]

Something was indeed happening in the forest. The ground was springy with a fresh rain, and the feeling of life came from every direction. The chirping of birds, and the odd calls of insects echoed through the trees. But for some odd reason, none of the animals could be seen, it seemed liked they were just a bit too far away to be seen. It was odd, but nothing incredibly strange. Sometimes the animals ran when they sensed her nearby, other times they were curious enough to get a look at her.

Up ahead in a clearing, standing over a small dead animal, was an incredible prize. The white female of the pack, the only pure white wolf among them. She was guarded like a queen, and usually she had an entourage of at least five guard wolves. But she was alone today. She continued to eat the squirrel slowly, until she heard a small twig snap nearby. She bayed loudly once, and looked right where the hunter was hiding, and dashed, running off down a remarkably clear path.

As she ran, she always made sure to linger a bit, and check if the human was following her. The white female always seemed to be just going around the corner, to the hunter giving chase. If the woman ever dropped behind, the wolf would slow down. It seemed almost like the white creature was leading her on.

The white wolf rounded a bend, stopping to give a loud cry, and then ran off again. She ran into a clearing, and stumbled, falling on the ground. It looked as if the white creature was injured, perhaps she had tripped. She was now limping, and looked back at the trailing human, bearing her fangs and growling, knowing she was caught. It seemed perfect, the wonderful white coat was stopped, unable to run and without her entourage to protect her from the human.

As soon as the human entered the clearing, it became evident that something was way off. The wolf stopped growling, and seemed to lose all interest in the human that had caught up to it. It's front left paw had been very weak looking, and she had been holding it close, when she was limping. The white wolf now put this paw back on the ground, evenly distributing her weight again...

Growling started to come from all around, and wolves began to appear. From all directions they began to slink from the shadows. Out of bushes and from behind trees. They locked off all manner of escape. There were at least fifteen of the snarling creatures, not including the regal white female. Right in front of the woman, out of the trees, came a very large wolf. It stood an inch or so taller than the rest, and seemed to be in high standing among them. It walked to the white female, and gently nudged her from behind. It seemed to understand, and it took off into the woods.

This large male walked towards the hunter, apparently completly unafraid of her. He was large, and much darker than most of the grey wolves. His eyes shone with an intelligence that, for an animal, seemed shocking. When he got close, he stared up, directly looking into her eyes, and a voice sounded. It seemed to come from everywhere. The forest around her seemed to make the sound. The words the voice spoke seemed distant and unclear for a few second, but soon came in very clearly. "I am Rhak'Mar, the alpha of this pack. You are to be our captive, from now until we decide to let you free. If ever. Resist, and you will be dealt with swiftly and painfully. You cannot kill all of us here. Drop that sharp object you carry." The voice came. Although the voice came from the power of the forest, the words seemed to be directed by the large wolf. He had identified himself as Rhak'Mar.

The voice came again. "Why? We don't really want you for a prisoner. We want you to be one of us. To feel the fear and helplessness of being hunted. And to truly feel the sorrow you have wrought. You have been thinning our ranks for many seasons. We intend to make sure you feel the damage you have done. A smaller wolf, barely older than a pup dashed out and bit her knife by the handle, as told by Rhak'Mar. He lifted it and ran off, carrying her weapon off into the forest.

The big wolf turned away from her. "Come with us." He said, looking over his shoulder. "I should make you travel like us, on your hands and legs, but something tells me it would tire you out too soon. You have much to see in our forest." The alpha said, walking along the path that he had appeared from.

The wolves hemmed her in, making sur she followed after their leader. He lead her through the forest slowly, showing her individual families of wolves, where mother and fathers had been killed. These wolves howled when they saw her cloak, made of furs. After two hours, the big wolf turned back to her. "Are you starting to understand?"
